Championship Game: Great game by both teams.  The game started off just like a championship game with the score 2-1 gold after the 1st.  Blue heated up in the 2nd by holding gold scoreless with great defense.  Then singles by both Grant Covey and Kyle Ross to get it started at the plate.  Blue took the lead 6-2.  Gold scored two more in the third and played great defense to tighten the score to 6-4.  Blue scored three more with hits from Hicks, Vanslyke, and Williams to make it 9-4 heading into the fifth.  Gold scored a couple of more but started to struggle at the mound walking Covey, Ross, Cloar and Stamm.  Then with bases loaded Vanslyke stepped to the plate and hit a very exciting out of the park grand slam to pretty much seal the victory.  Great season for this Minor Blue team.  15-0  This truly was a team effort to bring in an undefeated season.  Everyone contributed in their own way.  Great job Minor Blue!!!

Game #4: Third time was the charm!  After two crushing defeats by Minor Grey, Minor Gold finally got the win.  A phenomenal first inning of Gold bats set the tone in the dugout and on the field for the evening.  The first four batters all got on base and scored.  The rest of the Gold batters forced numerous walks almost making it through the whole line up.  Gold took an early 5-0 lead in the 1st.  Zach Jeter once again was stellar on the mound striking out 6 of the first 10 batters to get the defense going.  Jeter at pitcher and Waters at 1st was a lethal defensive combo with multiple outs.  Grey's defense came alive in the 2nd and 3rd forcing a 4 and out and 3 and out in back to back innings.  The fourth inning started with 5 straight walks.  Corey Waters was up with bases loaded.  He made the crowd sweat it out with full pitch count before launching the last pitch deep into right field batting 3 runners in to finish a 5 run inning. Grey started their rally in the bottom of the fourth with hits by Blake Burnicle and Cody Syster and 4 walks driving in 3 runs.  Corey Waters took the mound in the 5th to close the game.  The Grey batters, led by Jackson Williams made the Gold faithful sweat bullets but Waters' solid glove caught Cody Reichard's popfly at the mound.  Waters' snagged Caleb Cirksena's grounder and Jeter was ready at first with a brilliant stretched to the limit catch.  Waters sealed the victory with a strike out earning a game ball with his closing effort.   Jeter was also awarded a game ball for his strong performance at the mound, double play, and strong team leadership.  Noah West, Justin Curry and Evan Heath contributed heavily to the win with their solid bats, defense, and stolen bases.  There was a total team effort by all. Way to go GOLD!! BRING ON THE BLUE!!!

Game #2: Minor Gold came out with the heart of champions! Zach Jeter had a strong 35 pitch 2 inning performance striking out 5 batters and surviving PK Perry's monster blast hit for a triple. Jeter got the bats going early with his first of three triples driving in Corey Waters. He was backed up with singles by Noah West and Evan Heath. Gold finished the five run 1st inning with Teagen West walking, stealing 2nd, 3rd, and home to close it out. The second inning started with three straight walks by Sam Burgess, Josh "Kimbo" Kimble, and team captain Cole Graf. All three scored, Burgess and Kimbo both stole home before Jeter drove in Graf with a triple and his own steal at home. The third inning, Nic Gordon led off for the Green with a MONSTER hit for a triple and walks by Austin Garber, Grant Hogan and Zach Bechinski before Corey Waters and Teagen West made huge defensive plays to Noah West at home for the outs. Justin Curry made his Minor League pitching debut recording his first career strike out before closing out the top of the fourth with a 14-6 victory. The team's win was supported by 2 walks and 5 stolen bases, one at home by Sam Burgess. One walk and one hit by pitch and 3 stolen bases from Graf. One walk and one beautiful double by Waters for two runs and two RBI's. Noah West with one single, three stolen bases, and one extremely GUTSY steel at home. Noah's strong vocal leadership on the field kept the team motivated throughout the game. Swinford forced a walk and one run scored. Game balls were flying freely after such a great team effort. Justin Curry received one for his strong pitching debut and stolen bases. Josh Kimble received his for his amazing 6 stolen bases two of which were home plate. Teagen West for stolen bases and his strong defensive effort. Last but not least, Zach Jeter, for being Jeter. . . three triples, one GUTSY steel at home, 2 runs scored, 5 RBI's, 5 strike outs, 1 throw out at first, and keeping himself eligible to pitch on Wednesday nights semi-finals. PRICELESS!
